The September Tunneling is up, and extra shiny. It was a light month, so we had to go back, and pick up a few from earlier in the year. Kisses, Zombie Smashers and Heavy Weapon being your older games. Personal favorites for this month would include The Strategist, Virus and The Goat in the Grey Fedora. Doing the reviews like we do (blind, we don’t see each others scores until we’re all done), I always seem to have a game or two scoring regret. This month I’d have to say, the one game I *should* have given a higher score to would be The Goat in the Grey Fedora, the new Nick Bounty game. Even my comments clearly sound like I had a great time in the game, and I did. Ah well. Filed under: GameTunnel Comments: 1 Comment |

An underwater sequel to Cosmo Bots, a mech 3D shooter War World, Diablo meets Gauntlet in Evil Invasion, and a double dose of cavemen. An alright month. We’ve had better. But wait! What is this? Bright red, black, orange and blue banners? Oh noes! What could this be? An add campaign for some wacky game? Inconceivable! Filed under: GameTunnel and PuffBOMB Comments: None |

July roundup action. Check it out here. Some fun stuff this time. Wild Tangent’s Fate, more or less Diablo 2 with a pet. Geneforge 3, an oldskool non Japanese RPG. Facade, the crazy … simulation of … people … with marage problems. Yeah, some really great stuff this month. As for what’s going on, I originally ruled out the idea of actually getting something done for the IGF, but I’m starting to think I can pull something together. Due date is September 6th (so before then)… which sounds crazy, mind you, it’s a good thing August is a 31 day month. Welp, back to fun. Filed under: GameTunnel Comments: None |

Wow, it’s that time again already. Don’t look so impressed. This was a unique month. To start, we actually recieved 11 full versions! Wow. Usually, we get anywhere from 1-3 full versions per month. This time, we had a whopping 11 (1 being freeware). As for the games… ha ha ha… I’m not telling you. Ok, several interesting ones. Mexican Motor Mafia was the unanimous favorite; Ultratron, Puppytron on crack; Magic Blackboard, the strangest Breakout/Arkanoid ever… with “Space Gator”, as Anthony Flack put it; And finally, Summer School Girls, which was a game designed for the sole purpose of freaking me out. It was an extremely tight month for me to meet, thanks to my busy work shedule. Hopefully, things lighten up soon. Otherwise, I’ll be going crazy. Have a good weekend. GameTunnel’s Monthly Roundup for May is up. This was apparently a tough month to find enough games. Alas, we eventually made our quota of 14. Also, this is the 12th roundup, so guess what? The roundup’s are now a year old. Spiffy. I’ve only been involved for the past 8 months, but crazy ‘ol Mike Homel’s been going strong since the beginning. Congratz. Too Normal has been quiet this past month, but hey, I haven’t announced this site just yet. There’s been an extremely vague teaser in my signature on IndieGamer for some time now, but I don’t yet have any stalkers there yet… or so I think. I’ve started fiddling with a new music tracker, Renoise. I havn’t really talked about audio at all here yet, but it’s something I plan to spend more time on. In my *cough* youth, I was a big fan of Scream Tracker and Impulse Tracker. A friend Mike and I used to do a lot of tracking with these, trading songs, screwing up each others songs, etc. I eventually moved on to Buzz Tracker, which I really like, short of all the crashing. Recently, I’ve been searching for a new tracker to compliment the budget recording studio I’ve built. I almost went with Psycle, but it can’t save VST settings!?! As for Renoise, I’m very impressed with the interface, and the price is quite reasonable. Tracker like, but evolved. The effects chaining is simple, but nice. I still need to see how it deals with VST instruments, but I think we have a winner. Gold date for the project I’m involved with at work is coming up at the end of July. So, the way it looks right now, starting August I’m on my extended break. Interesting enough, the next 72 hour compo kicks off friday the 29th. Ain’t that convenient?
